Atlantic Crossing - 2005

Celeste started here crossing over the Atlantic Ocean from Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, December 2, 2005, and arrived to Barbados, Bridgetown, December 18, 2005, after 15 days of lovely sailing.

The crew on this route was:
Patrik Hedenstedt
Fredrik Monfrino
Johanna Schröder
Bengt Tarre
Tina Tarre
Niki Warner
Hampus Wennerlund

After departure from  Las Palmas the course was set south west to a point approx 100 NM north Cap Verde. In the trade wind area, Celeste changed course to west heading strait to Barbados.

In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean Celeste had some hours with little wind. Then the crew took the opportunity to swim in the water of 26 degrees celsius. To celebrate that Celeste reached half way over the ocean, the crew had a nice evening with a Mid Atlantic Party.

Most of the time Celeste sailed with spinnaker and made average speeds round 10 knots. The morning December 18, 2005, Celeste reached Barbados.
